Roof Inspection in Eastern Massachusetts
A roof inspection tells you what your roof can still handle and what needs attention, before a small problem turns into a bigger one. KMK Roofing runs this visit across Greater Boston and the North Shore.

What we check, and what we won’t promise
KMK Roofing takes a close, honest look at your shingles, flashing, and drainage, and writes it up so you have something to point to later. We check the shingle surface for anything lifted, cracked, or missing. We check the flashing around valleys, chimneys, and vent pipes. We check the gutters and drainage paths that carry water off the roof.
The report covers what we could actually see. If part of the roof wasn’t reachable from the ground, a ladder, or the attic, we say so instead of guessing. That’s on purpose. Claiming to know the condition of a spot we never reached would be selling you confidence, not information.
What you get is a condition report and a set of next steps. It’s not a promise of how many years your roof has left. Nobody can honestly guarantee that number.
When to book one in eastern Massachusetts
New England weather doesn’t wait for a convenient time to test a roof. A hard nor’easter, a winter with heavy ice at the eaves, or a roof that’s quietly passed the decade mark are all good reasons to book an inspection rather than wait for a stain to show up on your ceiling.
Ice dams deserve their own mention. Heat escaping into the attic melts snow on the upper roof, that meltwater refreezes at the colder eaves, and it can work its way under the shingles before you ever see a drip inside. A post-winter check catches lifted shingles and staining early, while it’s still a repair job and not a full deck replacement.
We quote the visit before we book it. The scope depends on your roof’s size and access, so we don’t publish one flat fee that would not really fit every roof.
Not the same as a home inspection
A general home inspector’s roof check is one small part of a much bigger report on the whole house. Our inspection is a focused look from someone who actually repairs roofs and can tell you what a problem really costs to fix.
If you’re weighing whether your roof can carry solar panels for the next couple of decades, that’s a separate visit built around remaining roof life, not a rebranded version of this one.
Where findings lead
Every inspection ends with a clear direction, not just a list of notes. Damaged flashing or a run of cracked shingles usually points to a targeted roof repair. Widespread wear, multiple problem spots, or a roof well past its working life points toward a roof replacement conversation instead. Storm damage gets photographed and documented so you have something to file with your insurance claim, whether or not we do the repair.
If you already have water coming into the house, don’t wait on a scheduled inspection. Contact us so we can look at the active leak first and treat the full inspection as the next step, not the first one.
